Very true. I believe, every artist goes through a cycle. All artists are not in born talented. They have to learn & experiment.


It is a cycle, by hook or crook, each & every one goes through. A cycle of amature to matured one!


In photography, It always starts with our mobile only. My mobile phone was the first companion during initial days!

Mobile Photography in Earlier Days


Remember? 1.2 MegaPixel (MP), 2MP & even 3MP camera phones were launched by Nokia!


I do not need to tell you this, just remember & tell me how your earlier days were? We all have learned basic of photography from basic phones, didn't we!


It really doesn't matter, whether it is Nokia or Sony Ericsson, but basic photography always begins with these only.


People who have more knowledge, they would have definitely chosen Sony Ericsson for its sound & camera quality, than Nokia in earlier days. That's for sure!

Journey of Mobile Photography


Earlier, even I started my photography with Nokia handsets with 2MP camera. I bought it along with my brother. My first camera phone, Poor quality with a great satisfaction!


Then I bought a smartphone with 8MP, later on Point n shoot camera with 12MP & now with DSLR with 18MP! Great satisfaction.


Journey was not so easy, it's never been! But I enjoyed it. From Nokia camera to DSLR, the journey was satisfying to my thirst, thirst of photography!

All smart phones are come up with best camera quality for rear as wel as front cameras.


Moreover, mobile have been designed with front flash light too! To selfie lovers, it's a great combo.


Numerous applications too have been developed to retouch the pictures. Predefined filters help to set the image mood!


Further, in today's world, Selfie is more popular. The word Selfie can be considered as a parallel to the concept of self image photography.


Nowadays, nobody would ask you to take the picture, they will take selfie instead!


Basically, for selfie, there is no criteria as such. Just look into front camera of your mobile, show your expression n click it!


Fortunately, in this whole world, still there is always a group of people, who believes in photography & use their camera mobile to click beautiful composition.


Such people will definitely interested in taking pictures than taking selfie. They believe in freezing the particular moment rather than locking expressions in selfie!


I'm one of them, if I do not carry my DSLR due to some reason!

The journey from 1.2MP camera to 24MP was not so easy. It took several years, several years of research & developments. Some failed or some successful experiments!


There are lot many developments in world of electronics, eventually in mobile photography too.


After all these years, I have been using multiple camera apps, multiple image editing apps, I learned alot many things, rather tricks!


A single photo you can click from various camera applications & even edit the same from various photo editing applications.


Camera apps like Open camera, Instagram, Camera FX & Ultimate HDR Camera will definitely take you to the higher level of photography.


Also, there are numerous picture editors are available in app store for free of cost. You don't have to pay a single penny.


Namely, Instagram, HDR Max Photo editor & my favorite Snapseed by Google can be your life saver. These apps are fully loaded with customized filters.


I said customized filters, though all the filters are predefined but still you will be able to customize it as per your need. That's the beauty, isn't it!



These tips n tricks I'm going to share with you. With these tips you will be a better standalone mobile photographer!

1. Know your Mobile & Know your App, first!

Yes, it's true, shots taken by iPhones are pretty similar with DSLR clicks. There is no much difference between the outcome of iPhone & DSLR.


I have heard that, there are online courses are available for iPhone Photography too! The online courses are from beginner to advanced level.


Still it might be a bias opinion to state here which one is the best between iPhone & DSLR. Own choice!


Certainly, I would always choose DSLR than iPhone though!
